Back near 1400 BC the Aegean had two line-scripts: Linear A (Minoan Crete, ~1800–1450 BC) and Linear B (Mycenaean — early Greek, decoded mid-20th c.).

• Linear A: still not consensus-decoded (Wikipedia/scholarly status). 2024–2025 papers + claims push computational / Anatolian-proto-Greek readings — interesting, not settled. Follow the data: treat “just decoded” as claim in motion, not closed science.
• Linear B: decoded · Greek on clay · proves Greek speech in that world by ~1400s BC.
• God Nile / Neilos: Greeks personified the Nile as river-god Neilos (Hesiod Theogony; later myth links Memphis, Libya/Africa). Homer often called the river Aigyptos. Data: Greek myth embeds Egypt/Africa early — not proof of biological “came from Africa” alone, but proof they thought with Africa as origin-space in story and trade.
• Bronze Age contact: Minoan/Mycenaean–Egypt goods & names (Linear B ethnonyms like Egyptian/Memphite). Trade and imagination already pointed south.

Bri reading we keep: scripts + Nile-in-the-pantheon → long memory that the Mediterranean story includes Africa. We are all one people — test every new “decode” against the corpus.
